When Is Fall Guys Coming To Xbox And Switch?

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout has exploded in popularity since its release on 4 August 2020. However, this cute and colourful (and on occasion insanely frustrating) take on battle royale is currently only available to purchase on PS4 and Steam on PC.

If you’re an Xbox or Nintendo user, this news comes as a bit of a blow. So to help, we’ve done some research to find out when – and if – the game will come to other platforms sometime in the future.

In the meantime, you can check out our list of the best upcoming games of 2020, and read more about the new next-gen consoles in our roundups of the Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X.

Will Fall Guys come to Xbox One or Nintendo Switch?

At this current time, no specified date has been announced for Fall Guys to come to other consoles – but the team over at Mediatonic has explained that they are open to looking at other platforms further down the line.

This explanation can be found over on the Fall Guys FAQ section, which also goes onto say that if you really want this game to come to either Xbox One or the Nintendo Switch, then you should notify the team either on Twitter or in the official Discord channel.

If there’s enough interest, the developers will look at creating versions for both of these consoles. However, it’s worth noting that at the moment Fall Guys doesn’t offer crossplay of any kind, so if it were to come to the Xbox and Switch, players may be limited to multiplayer with only those who play the same console.

Cross-platform play is however another thing that the developers have said they’d like to look into in the future, and will prioritise it based on interest.

Will Fall Guys come to PS5 and Xbox Series X?

With the release of this game so close to the launch of the next-gen consoles, you may be wondering whether Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout will get ported over to the PS5 and/or the Xbox Series X.

At the time of writing, no mention of this is available on Mediatonic’s website – we suspect that the team will be prioritising other existing consoles right now.

However, we’d be inclined to say that the game is more likely to come to Playstation 5 first as its currently available on PS4 right now, and not on Xbox. If it doesn’t come out on next gen consoles for a while, then users should still be able to play it using backwards compatibility.
