How to Watch the Asus ZenFone 8 Launch Live Stream

The Asus ZenFone 8 launch event has been confirmed by Asus following weeks of leaks and rumours detailing the next-gen flagship smartphone. If rumours are to be believed, we could be in for a smaller ZenFone this time around, and it might even ditch the beloved flip camera module, but we won’t know for sure until the ZenFone 8 event in May.

Here’s all you need to know about the ZenFone 8 launch, including timings, how to tune in live and what to expect from the announcement.

When is the Asus ZenFone 8 launch taking place?

The ZenFone 8 launch is set to take place tomorrow, 12 May 2021 at 6pm BST for those of us tuning in from the UK, which translates to 1pm EDT/ 10am PDT for those watching in the US. As you might expect, the reveal is set to be a virtual affair, with fans able to watch the event from the comfort of their own homes.

How can I watch the ZenFone 8 launch live stream?

As with most launches right now, Asus is expected to livestream the ZenFone 8 launch not only on its own website, but also the company’s YouTube channel, and possibly even Facebook too.

We’ve embedded the stream at the top of this article, so simply bookmark this page and head back tomorrow to see what Asus has planned for the ZenFone 8.

What should I expect from the ZenFone 8 event?

This is the big question, and while the ZenFone series of late has featured an innovative flipping camera system, Asus teasers suggest that may not be the case this time around.

The tagline “Big on performance. Compact in size.” suggests Asus is working on a smaller ZenFone this time around when compared to the 6.67in ZenFone 7, with rumours suggesting it might even be smaller than the iPhone 12 while still packing flagship features and performance.

In a follow-up tweet days later, Asus showcased a short video of a smartphone – believed to be the compact ZenFone 8 – with a hole punch camera cutout in the top-left. Previous models of ZenFone haven’t had front-facing cameras because the rear-facing module flips around to the front. If there’s a hole punch camera this time around, it’s likely that the ZenFone 8 ditches the system for something more traditional.

Is it just us or are there a lot of ‘o’s in ‘smooth’? How many, exactly? 😉 Know more: #BigonPerformanceCompactinSize

However, rumours suggest that there could be more than one model of ZenFone, with three models of ZenFone 8 potentially in the works, so don’t lose hope if you’re on the market for a bigger ZenFone just yet.

We won’t know for sure until 12 May, but if you’re curious about what might be on the cards, we cover the latest Asus ZenFone 8 news separately.
