How to watch Home Alone online

The original 1990 Christmas caper Home Alone is one of our favourite festive films and the slapstick never fails to elicit belly laughs from adults and children alike.

The later films weren’t so great (Macaulay Culkin wasn’t even in the third, fourth or fifth), but there are various ways to watch whether you stream online, buy or rent a digital copy or even a DVD. Some are also on TV this Christmas. Here’s how to watch Home Alone and Home Alone 2, 3, 4 and 5.

Stream Home Alone online for free

The easiest way to watch Home Alone online – along with Home Alone 2: Lost in New York and Home Alone 3 – is on Disney Plus. All three movies are available on the Disney streaming service in both the US and the UK. Subscriptions start from £5.99/$6.99 per month, but the downside is that there’s no free trial – though there are a few other ways to get Disney+ for free if you’re really committed.

Home Alone 4 and 5 are available in the UK via NowTV’s Cinema Pass, which costs £11.99 per month if you’re not already a Sky subscriber. The good news is there’s a 14-day free trial, so you can get your fill without paying a penny.

Meanwhile Home Alone 4 and 5 are on HBO Max in the US. Prices start from $14.99 per month, and sadly there’s no free trial – though as with Disney+, there are a couple other ways you may be able to get HBO Max for free.

None of the films are currently available on Netflix or Amazon Prime Video.
