Fall Guys Season 2 Start Date, Trailer, Skins & Rewards

Fall Guys came (almost) out of nowhere to become a global phenomenon, and it’s currently one of the most-played multiplayer games in the world – despite not even being available on Xbox or Switch.

The game is now coming to the end of its first content season, but committed players have already blasted through most of the unlockables, so inevitably all eyes have turned to Fall Guys season 2.

It was also announced recently that Fall Guys is coming to mobile in China, though we don’t know if or when a mobile version will launch in the West – or if it will ever come to the Xbox and Switch.

When does Fall Guys season 2 start?

Season 2 starts on Thursday 8 October. That’s the same time as season 1 ends, and the devs have said that players will receive double Fame points from now until the start of season 2.

What will be new in season 2?

We got a sneak peek at season two during the Gamescom Opening Night, and the key word is ‘medieval’.

New costumes include a knight’s armour, a dragon, a wizard, and a viking, while all of the new rounds being introduced take a vaguely medieval theme too, with drawbridges, swinging axes, and other props subtly suggesting the historical period – though let’s be honest, it all still mostly just looks like a bouncy castle anyway. Coordination is going to get even trickier too, with at least one level involving blocks you’ll have to work together to position so that you can all climb over walls.

The trailer shows off five new rounds and seven new costumes, but we’re expecting more than that. Probably not in terms of playable rounds, but since Season 1 includes 40 levels of unlockable skins, emotes, patterns, and other cosmetics we’re hoping there are plenty more cosmetics that the company has yet to reveal.

You can get a better look at the new costumes and stages in these official screenshots too:

But there are at least another four we haven’t properly seen yet. One of them is definitely a jester, the last is probably a princess, and is that second one maybe a horse? As for the first, that’s anyone’s guess.

Thanks to IGN, we’ve also now had our first proper look at one of the season two stages: Knight Fever. This race is designed to be one of the first stages in an episode, and features axes, spinny spiky things, draw bridges and more:

There’s one tweak that’s arguably even bigger: Crowns are changing. Right now only the single winner of a round gets a gold Crown, the only currency you can use to buy featured skins.

Judging by a recent tweet, that’s going to change when the new season drops.

We’ve heard you all of your feedback loud and clear!

Winning crowns in Fall Guys against 59 other beans can sometimes be a little challenging (@timthetatman)

For Season 2, we’ve added over 600% more golden crowns into the Season rewards…

‘Over 600%’ makes it sound like at least six or seven Crowns will be handed out per game – perhaps meaning everyone who reaches the final gets a Crown, or maybe tweaking things so that first place gets three Crowns, second gets two, and third gets just the one.

The follow-up tweet reveals that there’ll be a new reward for top players to make up for that though: nameplates. As detailed in the below video, these let you pick a banner style and a nickname to accompany your name in-game, with the hint that in the future there might be specific community-centric nicknames and banners released.

I thought I’d record a quick video to reveal a new feature that’s coming in Season 2…

Very spicy 🌶️

I’m super excited about this one 👌 pic.twitter.com/XI5IKYKQ9E
